Leader in development of new visual arts curriculum based on new national standards, accountable for supporting teachers in implementing new curriculum. Responsible for all aspects of student art exhibitions locally and at the state level. Procurer and manager of funding, including office operating budget, Title II grants, Maryland State Fine Arts grants.

Department Chair Sudbrook Magnet Middle School Baltimore County Public Schools July 2012 – April 2016 Responsible for all aspects of instructional leadership, departmental goals, classroom instruction, as well as recruitment, promotion, and management of budget for Sudbrook’s Visual Arts magnet program.

In one year, doubled the number of students and number of course offering in digital media courses at Dulaney. Sponsor of National Art Honor Society; developed new opportunities for display of student artwork throughout the school.

Student Teacher Supervisor Florida State University January 2009 to May 2009 Observed, conference with, and evaluated 12 student teachers working through the Art Education Department at Florida State University. Worked closely with cooperating teachers and university faculty.

Adjunct Faculty Maryland Institute, College of Art August 2007 to 2008 Teacher/facilitator for graduate level course, Professional Development for Art Educators. Responsible for development of a new course offered as part of MICA’s new Urban Teaching program.

Adjunct Faculty Loyola College in Maryland January 2007 to May 2007 Instructor of graduate level course, Methods of Teaching Art (Pre-K – 12). Responsible for development of a course required as a preparation for student teaching. The course addresses standards for art teacher preparation developed by the National Art Education Association, the expectations of the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium, as well as the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

Magnet Program Director Parkville Middle School & Center of Technology, Baltimore County Public Schools August 1994 to June 2008 Responsible for all aspects of classroom instruction, communication with parents and administrators, as well as recruitment, promotion, and management of budgets for Parkville Middle School's magnet programs. Instructional leader for teachers in the Applied Engineering, Environmental Science, Mass Communication, and Visual Arts magnet programs. Annually, Parkville Middle School receives in excess of 600 applications for 100 seats.

Team Leader for Curriculum Projects Office of Art, Baltimore County Public Schools 1995 to Present Selected to lead a variety of curriculum development workshops including work to align both comprehensive and magnet middle school visual arts curriculum with state standards.

Director Summer Art Enrichment Program, Baltimore County Public Schools 2005 Responsible for planning and directing an intensive two-week visual arts program for students entering grades three through twelve.
